FREE Tax Prep and Direct Deposit

Westminster, MD - Human Services Programs of Carroll County, Inc. (HSP) manages a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Site. HSP's VITA Site prepares free tax returns for low to moderate income households. If you made less than $49,000 in 2011 you may qualify for free tax preparation. If you worked at all - even just a few weeks - you could still get a refund! Tax preparers are IRS trained and certified. HSP's VITA Site will prepare quality tax returns and you will keep all of your refund.

Blog: Hats Off to HSP Staff for Successful Audit

There is no doubt that all HSP staff receives high marks in my book on a daily basis. It's the special recognition that comes from a monitoring agency that really causes you to take off your hat.
In this particular case, it's a high five for the program specialists who work in the energy assistance unit. Everyday, all day, this group of dedicated employees works diligently to screen clients for eligibility regarding energy assistance. Working with Maryland Energy Assistance (MEAP) and the Office of Home Energy Programs, this team of women perform intake, process and qualify more than 4,000 applications of Carroll County residents seeking emergency and energy assistance.

Blog: HSP Director Thanks Partners and Community For Support

I have enjoyed one heck of a ride thus far as the "fairly" new executive director of Human Services Programs of Carroll County, Inc. I have been really and truly impressed with the people who work at HSP and their level of commitment. I have said this since day one (August 1st when I started) that the HSP folks are wonderful. Some might think I am blowing smoke here, but I assure all that I am sincere in my remarks.
