Neighbors In Need Year Round

In 2012, HSP transitioned our traditional holiday giving program into an expanded format titled Neighbors in Need Year Round (NINYR). NINYR has mobilized the generosity of our community to meet the critical needs our low-income and at-risk neighbors face every day, in every season...housing, essential utilities, help working toward financial stability, and self-sufficiency. In addition to helping to meet needs year round, NINYR also has a component designed to assist families during the holiday season.

Holiday Program of Neighbors in Need Year Round

The Holiday Program of NINYR helps Carroll County residents provide holiday presents for their family. Families in need may either be "adopted" for the holidays or may be able to "shop" (at no cost) in the Holiday Shop. In addition to helping fill this need in our community, the Holiday Program also provides generous individuals, businesses, organizations, and churches an opportunity to experience the joy of being a Holiday Helper for their neighbors.

In 2012, the Holiday Program helped over 4,000 low-income, at-risk, Carroll County residents to have a better holiday. About 58% of those helped were "adopted" by members of the community while the remaining applicants "shopped" in the Holiday Shop.

Every year, HSP coordinates the efforts of hundreds of Carroll County community members, to become Holiday Helpers. Together we meet the needs of families in the Holiday Program. You can be a part of the effort this year!
