As the holiday season approaches, many people look for ways to help others. HSP is once again coordinating Neighbors in Need, a countywide holiday help program. In 2011, this program helped over 4,000 low-income Carroll County residents have a better holiday. HSP wants to work with you to make a difference this year too.
Last year 43% of those helped were adopted while the remaining applicants "shopped" at our Holiday Shop filled with donations of new toys, gifts, clothing and personal care and household items. We are fortunate to live in a very generous community and have set a goal this year to have at least 65% of those seeking help adopted. It's easy and rewarding to adopt a family for the holidays. And, given the number of people that we help, we have families of all sizes - to fit any budget you may have in mind.
If you cannot adopt a family this year and would like to help in some other way or if you'd like more details on how to help, check out the information we've included here or contact Lori Graham, Neighbors in Need Program Coordinator, at 410-386-6641 or Lgraham@hspinc.org.
Thank you for considering the needs of Carroll County's most vulnerable residents now and throughout the year.
