Neighbors in Need

The goal of Neighbors in Need (NIN) is to provide holiday gifts and food for low-income, at-risk  families in Carroll County.  HSP seeks referrals from the Carroll County Department of Social Services, the Carroll County Health Department, Carroll County Public Schools and other service providers in the community to identify individuals and families with demonstrated need.  These agencies obtain written consent from registrants to share the information provided on their referrals. HSP then coordinates the "adoption" of families by various local businesses, schools, community groups, etc.  Households that are not adopted by the community are invited to our Holiday Shop which is set up by HSP employees and volunteers with the generous donations of new gift items for all ages.  Households may select gifts for their family members.  They also receive food vouchers for local grocery stores where they may select their favorite holiday foods.

Who may be eligible?

Low-income, at-risk families in Carroll County

Requirements/Guidelines to Apply

Must have received a service from any of the referring agencies within the current calendar year
