Carroll County Family Center
The Carroll County Family Center provides support services to parents and children, birth to three years of age. Our first priority is to assist parents in making sure that their children are healthy physically, developmentally and emotionally. This is accomplished through a variety of activities and programs, including immunization checks, developmental screenings, parent/child activities and quality child developmental care while families are at the center. The Family Center also supports parents through programs designed to increase parenting effectiveness and self-sufficiency skills. These programs include:
The Service Coordinator is available to work with families on goal planning, general counseling, crisis intervention and referrals. Transportation to and from the center is provided, van schedule permitting. The Carroll Family Center also operates a Dads Works Program to help fathers become better dads. Who may be eligible? Parents, and parents-to-be, of children from birth to forty-seven (47) months of age may attend the programs at the Family Center. Older children may attend special events and field trips sponsored by the center as well. Requirements/Guidelines to Apply Any parents or expectant parents and their children (age 0-3), may attend the center at no cost to them. Families needing services beyond the scope of those provided at the center will be referred to other community resources. While there is no cost to attend our programs, certain field trips may require a nominal fee. Parents must be in the center at all times if their children are also present. Through the orientation process, parents will learn about the rules of the center. How to Apply Please apply in person at the center during normal business hours (Mon - Thu 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.). A staff person will meet with the family to complete initial paperwork. We ask that parents bring their children's immunization record with them on the first visit so that we may verify that immunizations are up-to-date. * 10 Distillery Drive (3rd Floor) * 410-857-0629 or 410-857-7805 * e-mail: familycenter@hspinc.org
